2011 State of Downtown Denver Report

This morning,  at the Downtown Denver Partnership’s Annual Meeting, we debuted our first State of Downtown Denver report.  Inside, readers will find a wealth of information about Downtown Denver, including:

  • The magnitude of public and private investment that has occurred in Downtown Denver in the last ten years  – we estimate it’s at about $4.6 billion!
  • The popularity of Downtown Denver’s dining scene  – did you know that 25 restaurants opened in Downtown Denver between April 2010 and April 2011?
  • The popularity of transportation options like transit, carpooling, walking and biking among Downtown Denver’s employees  – In fact, 62% of commuters use one of these modes instead of driving alone.
  • Downtown Denver’s comparatively low office vacancy rate - 12.6% – even lower than places like Downtown Seattle, San Diego and Chicago.

Downtown Denver stakeholders will be able to count on this document being published annually and full of fresh information and noteworthy statistics about Downtown Denver from the previous year.  Moving forward, the Downtown Denver Partnership will spend a full year gathering information to include in next year’s document through independent research and through our partners, much like we did for this year’s document.  In the meantime, we encourage you to download this year’s report from our website and share it in the months to come with private sector leaders, investors, developers and decision makers and help us share the story of Downtown Denver.
